Traditional commercial VPN solutions are great when you’re at home and want to protect your home IP address and web activity from prying eyes or disguise the country of your home connection, but this comes with the limitation that sites or networks you connect to can clearly see you are using a VPN service.  The downside is that connections coming from these kinds of VPN services are often monitored or blacklisted by banking/government sites, streaming services and various companies networks, and using them can lead to questions or trigger website/network security blocks.
